Earlier this year, after being out of town, we came home to find out our dishwasher messed up and flooded our kitchen causing some water damage. What started as just fixing the kitchen floor and getting a new dishwasher, we found out that the dishwasher had been leaking for a while so there was more damage underneath, which meant we would need to replace the rest of the hardwood in the house sooner than later.

Remodeling your kitchen or house is one of those things that sounds really fun until you have to actually start doing it! LOL We had to essentially move out for 3 months, and dealing with insurance is never fun, but after seeing the final results… it was TOTALLY worth it!

We started tearing out cabinetry and flooring just where the water damage was, but noticed that the cabinets that were going to be replaced, wouldn’t match our old cabinets, so we had to make a choice to replace all of them. As is almost always tge case, this demo job turned into a much bigger construction project than we had originally anticipated!😉
