How did the Republic not discover the Clone Army before the Attack of the Clones?
It may seem strange that the republic had no knowledge of the Grand army of the republic until the the start of the clone wars, but it actually makes perfect sense. First Kamino was based in wild space and so the Republic had very little contact with the Kaminoans. Secon, up until Darth Plagius provided them funding, the Kaminoans did not have the facilities to create a grand army until only a few decades before the start of the clone wars, meaning the republic had not suspected anything when they first discovered the planet. In terms of equipment, smaller firearms were made on Kamino itself while larger ships and equipment was developed by Rotherna heavy industry, an incredibly secretive and heavily armed corporation that would not reveal any secrets to the Republic.
