Different questions are being raised by fans and followers of Dr John Watts are flooding his series of hugely popular educational videos with queries related to hair transplants and hair growth issues.

In this educational video, noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad Dr John Watts answers select shortlisted questions of viewers related to hair growth, hair hall and hair transplant.

Sai Gautam asks: “Is there any treatment for double whorl and swirl on the scalp?”

In his response, Dr John Watts tells Sai Gautam that the presence of double whorls and swirls on the crown region of the scalp has a genetic link.

“The hair strands show a unique pattern and often stand erect in a vertical position. Sometimes, this feature is also visible on the front of the scalp of some people. Usually, there is no loss or harm but often people who have it do not like them,” informed Dr John.

Though Dr John Watts said that routine salon procedures can help to control them, the results would remain temporary, making it a bothersome issue.

“Surgically, there is nothing that can be done to remove the double whorl and swirl. We cannot remove them permanently,” he said.

Anil Dasari asks: “Besides hair transplant procedure, is there any other advanced procedure for hair growth?

In his response, Dr John Watts tells Anil Dasari that there is a new advanced procedure that is on the way. “This is more advanced than the regular hair transplant procedures we follow. It is called hair cloning,” he informed Anil.

Explaining the hair cloning procedure, which is still in the experimental stages and not approved for the masses, Dr John said that in hair cloning, hair is cultured in the laboratory and the grafts are then transplanted onto the scalp when they are ready. “This technique would come one day,” said Dr John.

Balu Praveen asks: “If I pluck one grey hair strand, will other existing hair turn grey?

In his response, Dr John Watts said that there is no connection between plucking grey hair and having any adverse impact on other existing hair. “They won’t turn grey,” he said, explaining that hair turns grey due to the absence of melanin production or poor production. “This is a natural process due to genetic reasons.”
