6 people killed in an ambush in Manipur; Commanding officer, wife and child killed

4 security personnel, including an army commanding officer of the area, his wife and child have been killed in an ambush in Churachandpur, Manipur. According to our sources, the army personnel were martyred after an ambush was laid by militants in Churachandpur district of Manipur. N. Biren Singh, the state's chief minister has strongly condemned the "cowardly" attack in his tweet. The Manipur CM has also vowed that perpetrators will be brought to justice. The personnel killed belonged to the 46 Assam Rifles. According to our reporter on the scene, the commanding officer was Vaibhav Tripathi who was travelling through the area with his wife and son along with a quick-response team.
