Amount of Lumber I Can Saw May Surprise You

Welcome back to Sawing with Sandy! On today's episode I tackle the question of how much lumber can I actually saw with a portable sawmill. I've often given estimates over the years of how much lumber I can make in a given amount of time but with additional years of sawing experience I find myself getting faster. Today with my sawmill setup as efficient as I can get it, I'll show you exactly how much lumber I can make in 1 hour. Going into today's episode I had a general idea how much lumber I could saw in 1 hour but I often didn't keep track. After tracking the wood I saw today I'm a bit surprised. to say the least. Some of you who own similar sawmills may known exactly why these portable sawmills cut at the speed they do. Knowing the approximate board feet that I can saw in an hour helps me estimate labour cost and potential income if I were to sell lumber moving forward.
