FREEDOM OR LOCKDOWN? Where the world is headed, unity, & critical thinking with Zuby
Published at : September 28, 2021
With all the changes happening across the globe over the last year and a half, where is the future headed? In this episode I sit down with Zuby to discuss freedom, mandates, and lockdowns, division and unity, history repeating itself, critical thinking and personal responsibility. The media and government have done such a good job at dividing people, creating fear, and not allowing nuance, so we break it all down in this episode.
Zuby is an independent rap artist, public speaker, and creative entrepreneur who captures the hearts of many with his authenticity and grounding unique perspective. He’s not afraid to say what he really thinks and doesn’t shy away from expressing himself.
In this episode we cover:
- Embracing the gray of different perspectives
- The polarization of one side or the other and how the media divides people
- What does a truly free society look like?
- Is coercion freedom? Are ultimatums freedom?
- History repeating itself. What we can learn from the past
- Is being against mandates and lockdowns selfish, uncaring, and not trusting science?
- Detrimental effects to the lockdowns and mandates
- The current role out of the “Health Pass” across the globe
- Why we should be aware of government elected officials’ power and if they always have our best interest at heart
- How there is so much fear right now: fear of the virus, fear of standing out, fear of loosing one’s job, or fear of speaking one’s mind
- Zuby’s viral tweets that speak to what’s happening in our culture and world in a unique way
- Victor mentality and personal responsibility

The over 1/3 of Americans who believe hospitalization rates are over 50% for covid was from taking from the 41% of democrats and 28% of republicans who believe that to be true. I didn't want to use political parties in the intro because this episode is not about that. I did no want to further polarize the discussion by separating democrats and republicans.
The 1-5% hospitalization rate is the best available estimate as the actual number is not precisely known. In December 2020 the vaccine was not available and now over half of Americans have had it. If the vaccine reduces hospitalizations like it claims then hospitalization numbers should be around the same or lower. Deaths from covid were around 2500 a day in December 2020 and around 2000 now. Cases were around 200k a day in December 2020 and around 150k a day currently. It appears from that data that hospitalization rates probably have not changed much since December 2020 since cases were higher in December and as a result deaths were higher. Now cases are less than December and deaths are down around the same percentage. These numbers are according to The NY Times and include just the United States. https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event=comments&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbDFFZjlENHRLR1pOeWdFQUNGRjFpOG1XbTJZQXxBQ3Jtc0trWDNFQjNsVjNXanE4Nk9jVlFFMGx2MVFxR0ttWkN4RzJIZXNkSTlmSDZocW5ESzk4Qm1maVJsS1VDY1k5WWNWOUVsbDg1TjVjeHlXSWF5V3BZdWdGWFpHbTRCLUZSVEFQa193TThMTGVfNlpCdHkyTQ&q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nytimes.com%2Finteractive%2F2021%2Fus%2Fcovid-cases.html&stzid=Ugy8-kAuMMPQrEWG0TV4AaABAg.9SqByHEttfL9SqYXWQAyO2
